Welcome to Mendel Elementary School!

As I begin my third school year here at Mendel, I continue to be inspired by the meaningful relationships I have built with our students, staff, and families. These connections have played a vital role in the success and growth of our school community, and I am honored to serve in a place where collaboration and commitment truly make a difference.

At Mendel, we are dedicated to providing a strong academic foundation grounded in knowledge and intentional/purposeful learning experiences.  Our goal is to cultivate curious, thoughtful learners who are equipped to engage with the world around them.

We are equally committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where creativity and joy in learning thrive. Every student is welcomed, valued, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. Our school community is built on a strong sense of shared purpose, and we take pride in fostering responsibility, character, and a love of learning.

Our educators collaborate regularly with one another and with instructional specialists to thoughtfully plan lessons that build knowledge over time and challenge students to think deeply. By focusing on both academic growth and personal development, we support the whole child. In our classrooms, students are encouraged to ask questions, make connections, express ideas clearly, and engage respectfully with others.

Your partnership plays a critical role in this work. We invite you to be actively involved in our school community—whether by volunteering, joining our PTO, participating in Continuous Improvement (CI) efforts, attending School Advisory Council (SAC) meetings, or engaging in school-wide events. Staying connected with your child’s teacher is another important way to support their progress and success.
